SRHS Weekly Updates as of 9-24-23
Posted on 09/25/2023

Dear Falcon Families,

The school year is well under way as we approach week 6 of our first semester. The progress report grading period 1 (P1) closes Friday, September 29th and teachers will post all grades that can be viewed via PowerSchool by the following Friday, October 6th. The P1 grading period is a formative report which is a good time to look at your child’s grades and see their strengths and areas of growth. For students who need additional support, our peer tutoring program is a great resource that provides students targeted subject support. You can access this resource and learn more about the program through this link: https://sites.google.com/view/srhspeertutoring/get-tutored

In today’s update, I’ve included information about our Wednesday College Series, attendance accountability reminders, counseling updates, and more. See below for the latest updates as of 9-24-23.

* Please forward this message to your child’s email account so they have all the latest info.

Early Out Modified Monday, September 25

This Monday, September 25th is a modified Monday with school ending at 2:23pm. During the 2:23 - 3:23pm time window, teachers will be either (1) offering revision/reassessments for students or (2) will be meeting with their fellow colleagues to collaborate on instructional practices. Those teachers who are offering revision/reassessment opportunities will have communicated with their students. We encourage all students who have scheduled revision/reassessment opportunities to take advantage of this time to hone their learning.

Students Need to Bring Chromebooks Everyday

Please remind your students to bring their district issued chromebook to school every day, charged and ready to use. If students are having problems with their chromebook, please tell them to go to the library for troubleshooting or for a replacement. Many of our teachers administer tests that require a district issued chromebook.

Progress Report Grading Period 1 Ends on September 29th

Next Friday, September 29th is the end of the Progress Report 1 (P1) grading period. Teachers will post grades the following week to be available via PowerSchool on Friday, October 6th. These grades are a formative progress report and do not represent a final summative semester grade. The final summative grading period for semester 1 closes on January 19th.
