Dear Falcon Families,
It’s hard to believe, but we are now only two weeks away from the end of our first progress report grading period. As we near the end of the first six weeks and teachers update progress reports, please encourage your students to seek help in subjects where they might struggle. To prepare for the end of the first grading period, please make sure you can access your student’s information through the Parent Portal. See information and reminders below, if you need to make updates.
Please remind your students to bring their District Issued Chromebook to class everyday. Many teachers use district regulated tools for assignments and assessments. If your student has a broken Chromebook, please have them contact Ms. Rohrer in the library; she can offer a day to day replacement (limited amount available) or order a new one, as needed.
To be sure your student receives all school and graduating class level updates on events, please remind them to join the Google classroom for their grade and follow the SRHS ASB instagram. The Google classroom gives them access to all the announcements and information needed for their grade level and the ASB instagram includes reminders and updates in real time. While there are many events happening all over campus (see these links for more information: Music program, Theater, Athletics), our next big event is Homecoming on October 11th. The Homecoming game is October 10th against Chrisian, and the dance will be October 11th.
Senior Families: Don’t forget to upload your senior’s baby photo for the 2026 Legend Yearbook! Use the link below to submit your photo, and be sure to purchase a yearbook through Jostens to secure your copy.

The San Diego Unified Informational Classroom is designed to be a place for high school students to access important updates and information relevant to them – anything from district policy updates like the Phone-Free School Day to scholarship opportunities. Students should have received an automatic invitation to join the classroom. However, they can self-enroll in the course here: https://sandiegounified.instructure.com/enroll/W4XJAL. Or, they can sign up at https://sandiegounified.instructure.com/register and use the following join code: W4XJAL

Block Scheduling Input Session
San Diego Unified School District currently uses a 4x4 block schedule in 13 of our high schools. The school district is exploring the implementation of the 4x4 block schedule for the remainder of our comprehensive high schools, including SRHS. The district is looking for your input and holding a virtual session. Parents and guardians of current or future students are invited to attend engagement sessions listed below:
Bring Student District Chromebook Everyday - Reminder
Please remind your student to bring their district-issued Chromebook, fully charged, to school every day. Some teachers require the use of the district device for tests and quizzes, and personal devices may not be compatible. If the Chromebook isn't working properly, please visit the library for assistance.
Counseling Updates
Senior Parents: Please remind your student to schedule their one-on-one meeting with their counselor if they have not already done so. Counselors have intentionally reserved this time to provide dedicated support for seniors, as their availability will be more limited later in the fall during articulation with 8th–11th grade students. Counselors will also have time set aside to assist with college applications in October and November. College App Lab times and dates can be found on the Important Dates link on the counseling website found under the Senior page. https://www.srhscounseling.com/senior
Wednesday College Series
The Wednesday College Series begins this Wednesday, September 10th and will feature presentations from Johns Hopkins University, Olin College of Engineering and Southern Utah University. All students are welcome at lunch (12:55-1:25), in the library. Use this link to see the schedule of colleges that will be in attendance each week.
Save the date! The College Showcase is back!
Scripps Ranch will once again host The College Showcase! On October 16th, from 6-8pm in the gym, SRHS will host an event featuring 100 Universities! More information will be provided closer to the event.
Senior and All-Student Photo Makeup Day - Reminder
Tuesday, September 9, 2025 is the last opportunity for all students to have their school photo taken. Seniors will be given priority on this day, as this is their designated makeup day. All other students in 9th, 10th, and 11th grade who missed the previous photo dates must also attend on this day. All students will receive an official summons with their specific time slot in two ways:
-
An email sent to their [email protected] email address on Monday, September 8, 2025.
-
A physical summons distributed by their Advisory teacher on either Wednesday, September 3, 2025 or Thursday, September 4, 2025.
Please remind your student to check their email for this important information.

Student Drop-Off and Pick-Up - Reminder
At Scripps Ranch High, during pick-up and drop-off times has been a problem since our school has “one way in and one way out.” In order to limit traffic as much as possible, we are asking parents/guardians to drop off their students in designated locations on the East Side of Falcon Way, Scripps Lake Drive, or Treena Street. See this Student Drop-Off & Pick-Up for details. Please do not park along any curbs that are painted red in front of the theatre or at the top of Falcon Way; these are to be kept open in case of emergency. View these Traffic Safety Tips for drivers and students from SDUSD.
Attendance Procedure Updates - Reminder
New this year, parents/guardians will report student absences via two Google forms. There is an Early Release Request form and an Absence/Late Arrival Notification form. These forms will go live on the first day of school, August 11th. Although anyone can access these forms, submissions will only be received when sent using the parent/guardian email address on file in PowerSchool. All other submissions will be automatically blocked. You may have a new attendance clerk—see below. All information regarding attendance, including the links, can be found on the attendance website and pages 12-16 in the student handbook.
