SRHS Weekly Updates as of 9-21-25
Posted on 09/22/2025

Dear Falcon Families,

And just like that, the first six weeks of school are complete. Friday marked the end of our first grading period here at Scripps Ranch. Grades will be posted by Monday and available in PowerSchool by Friday, September 26th. Please remember the first six weeks marker is a progress report, and not the final grade for the semester. It is still early in the semester (ending December 19th) and there are two grading periods left. If you see signs your student is struggling in a certain subject, please follow up with your student’s teacher and encourage your student to take advantage of a teacher’s tutoring times and SR6 (Saturday School) sessions, especially if they have tardies or absences to recover. Students who pursue these opportunities to improve their grades and self- advocate, set themselves up for growth and success throughout the rest of the year.

Our students are doing great this semester as all our programs continue to prepare for games, shows, and competitions. Please make plans to join us to cheer on our Falcons. For more information about athletics, go HERE, the Falcon Playhouse go HERE, our Music Program (marching band in the fall) go HERE, ASB updates go HERE, and our AFROTC program go HERE

Below you will find information about accessing the Family Resource Guide. This is available through the Parent Portal in PowerSchool. If you still need to update your access (in order to access the Family Guide and your students’ grades) review the instructions below.

Our Weekly College Series, presented by our Scripps Ranch Foundation, continues this week. Please see below for details and encourage your students to stop in and gain powerful insight into a wide variety of college opportunities. And don’t forget to save the date for our College Showcase, hosted in the SRHS gym from 6pm to 8pm  on October 16th! (see below for the flyer)

This week’s updates include information about the end of the grading period, ongoing College series, the Family Resource Guide, how to get to the Parent Portal, and more. We are also one week closer to Homecoming, and tickets are now on sale! The Homecoming game is on October 10th and the dance is October 11th. Please remind your students to show their school spirit and check out their Google classroom, the ASB instagram page, and our ASB website for all the fun events SRHS has to offer.

See below for the latest updates as of 9-21-25.

Student Drop-Off and Pick-Up - Reminder

At Scripps Ranch High, during pick-up and drop-off times has been a problem since our school has “one way in and one way out.” In order to limit traffic as much as possible, we are asking parents/guardians to drop off their students in designated locations on the East Side of Falcon Way, Scripps Lake Drive, or Treena Street. See this Student Drop-Off & Pick-Up for details. Please do not park along any curbs that are painted red in front of the theatre or at the top of Falcon Way; these are to be kept open in case of emergency. View these Traffic Safety Tips for drivers and students from SDUSD.

Attendance Procedure Updates - Reminder

New this year, parents/guardians will report student absences via two Google forms. There is an Early Release Request form and an Absence/Late Arrival Notification form. These forms will go live on the first day of school, August 11th. Although anyone can access these forms, submissions will only be received when sent using the parent/guardian email address on file in PowerSchool. All other submissions will be automatically blocked. You may have a new attendance clerk—see below. All information regarding attendance, including the links, can be found on the attendance website and pages 12-16 in the student handbook.

That’s all for today. Enjoy the rest of your weekend.

Sincerely,

Matt Lawson, Ed.D

Principal
