Dear Falcon Families,
September is here and we now have three full weeks of the school year completed. And despite the recent heat, our students are still showing their energy and spirit across campus. Our student athletes continue to impress, and our students in the arts continue to rehearse and prepare for upcoming competitions and productions. Our AFJROTC cadets, along with all our many clubs and academic teams on campus, continue preparing to welcome existing and new members for another terrific year.
Last Wednesday we held our annual “Back to School Night.” Thank you to the Foundation for once again providing food trucks and thank you to the FALCONnections parent group, and specifically Dr. Tara Shuman, for the great presentation on student mental health. It was wonderful to see teachers, staff, and families connect during the event. If you were not able to attend, and you need more information about your student’s class, please reach out to their teachers directly. In addition, please remind your students to join the Google classroom for their grade. This gives them access to all the announcements and information needed for their grade level.
Mark your calendars and save the date! Scripps Ranch will once again host The College Showcase! On October 16th, from 6-8pm in the gym, SRHS will host an event featuring 100 Universities! More information will be provided closer to the event.
The end of the first grading period is September 19th. If you have not yet accessed the PowerSchool parent portal, please see below for directions. Progress reports and semester reports cards will be sent out via digital document delivery. To be sure you receive these important documents, please take a moment to: 1. Verify that the digital document email address is up-to-date in PowerSchool, and 2. Ensure that you are opted into digital document delivery.
This week’s updates include reminders about construction on Falcon Way, photo make up day, details on how to access the PowerSchool parent portal, drop-off and pick-up, attendance procedures, the return of the Wednesday College series, a message from the Foundation, and more. Please continue to encourage your students to check the Scripps Ranch ASB website and Instagram for updates on school events and spirit days. As the football season continues, students will definitely want to be aware of spirit days, homecoming activities, and more. We hope everyone has a restful three day weekend.

SRHS School Committees and Parent Volunteers
School Site Council (SSC) meetings and Site Governance Team (SGT) meetings are held via Microsoft Teams on approximately the last Tuesday of each month. Our first meeting will be Tuesday, September 30th. SSC is held from 3:45 - 4:15pm and SGT is held from 4:15 - 4:45pm. SSC oversees the implementation, monitoring, and revision of the Single Plan for Student Achievement (SPSA), including reviewing and analyzing data; consulting with advisory groups; evaluating programs and activities; and allocating the expenditure of funds available to the school through categorical programs. SGT oversees the instructional program, implementation of new services, and bell schedule.

Please complete this Google Form: SRHS School Committees and Parent Volunteers by Thursday, September 4th if you are interested in being a part of one or both of these committees. I will take the names submitted for SSC and SGT and create an electronic ballot to be sent out for both SSC and SGT elections in 1-2 weeks.
Bring Student District Chromebook Everyday
Please remind your student to bring their district-issued Chromebook, fully charged, to school every day. Some teachers require the use of the district device for tests and quizzes, and personal devices may not be compatible. If the Chromebook isn't working properly, please visit the library for assistance.

The Scripps Ranch High School Foundation is excited to announce the return of The Wednesday College Series beginning on September 10, 2025. Students are invited to come to the Library at lunch from 12:55-1:25pm to visit with college admissions representatives. All grade levels are welcome to attend. Parent Portal
Ready to help us claim the top spot? Scripps Ranch High School was just named the #2 high school in the district for parent portal accounts, but we've got our eyes on #1! Let's show everyone the power of our parent community and make it happen.
To get started, all you need is a valid email address and the Access ID and Password from your student's school.
Don't have your login info? No problem! Just fill out the Scripps Ranch High School Parent Portal Access Request Form. We'll send you an Access ID and password for each of your students so you can get signed up and help us reach our goal
Senior and All-Student Photo Makeup Day
Tuesday, September 9, 2025 is the last opportunity for all students to have their school photo taken. Seniors will be given priority on this day, as this is their designated makeup day. All other students in 9th, 10th, and 11th grade who missed the previous photo dates must also attend on this day. All students will receive an official summons with their specific time slot in two ways:
-
An email sent to their [email protected] email address on Monday, September 8, 2025.
-
A physical summons distributed by their Advisory teacher on either Wednesday, September 3, 2025 or Thursday, September 4, 2025.
Please remind your student to check their email for this important information.
Student Drop-Off and Pick-Up - Reminder
At Scripps Ranch High, traffic during pick-up and drop-off times has been a problem since our school has “one way in and one way out.” In order to limit traffic as much as possible, we are asking parents/guardians to drop off their students in designated locations on the East Side of Falcon Way, Scripps Lake Drive, or Treena Street. See this Student Drop-Off & Pick-Up for details. Please do not park along any curbs that are painted red in front of the theatre or at the top of Falcon Way; these are to be kept open in case of emergency. View these Traffic Safety Tips for drivers and students from SDUSD.
Attendance Procedure Updates - Reminder
New this year, parents/guardians will report student absences via two Google forms. There is an Early Release Request form and an Absence/Late Arrival Notification form. These forms will go live on the first day of school, August 11th. Although anyone can access these forms, submissions will only be received when sent using the parent/guardian email address on file in PowerSchool. All other submissions will be automatically blocked. You may have a new attendance clerk—see below. All information regarding attendance, including the links, can be found on the attendance website and pages 12-16 in the student handbook.
