Dear Falcon Families,
We hope everyone had a wonderful winter break and getting back into your routines is going well. Our Falcons kicked off their first week back with a terrific Improv show and the Winter Formal at the House of Blues. There is more in store for our Falcons as winter sports teams continue to compete and other programs (theater, ROTC, drumline, winter colorguard, etc.) continue to prepare and rehearse for shows and competitions). For updated information on all our fantastic programs, please visit our website, or the following links: Athletics go HERE, Falcon Playhouse go HERE, Music Program (marching band in the fall) go HERE, ASB updates go HERE, and AFROTC program go HERE.
As the second semester begins, remember to remind your students to start off positive and academically strong by communicating with their teachers as soon as they feel themselves beginning to struggle in a course. Remind students to ask teachers about tutoring time, visit our peer tutors on campus, and check out our SR6 (Saturday School) schedule for opportunities to get extra help with their academic work.
As always, please remind your students to check their grade level Google Classroom for updates and stay connected with the ASB Instagram page for event details and upcoming deadlines; this is especially important for seniors as end of the year deadlines will begin to appear quickly in these last few months of high school.
Senior parents! Last call, last chance to purchase a “Senior Recognition Ads!” Celebrate your senior with a personalized yearbook ad. This is the final chance to buy ad space before the 2/1 deadline, so don’t miss out on honoring their journey! Here is the link: https://www.jostens.com/apps/jcom/router.mvc?affiliateId=1014487

During the 2:29 - 3:23pm time window, teachers will be either (1) offering revision/reassessments for students or (2) will be meeting with their fellow colleagues to collaborate on instructional practices. Those teachers who are offering revision/reassessment opportunities will have communicated with their students. We encourage all students who have scheduled revision/reassessment opportunities to take advantage of this time to hone their learning.

School Closed February 26th
The district sent out communication to families regarding the decision to close schools on February 26th due to the teacher’s union strike. Due to that decision, the make up date for classes will be on March 9th, which had been previously scheduled as a non instructional day. Calendar for the 2026-27 School Year
We understand that families often plan events, trips, and vacations well in advance. To support scheduling these fun events with your family, I am providing the important dates for the 2026-27 school year below. To maximize your child’s success, please schedule vacations outside of our finals weeks. Missing finals requires students to make arrangements with their teachers after grades close, which creates challenges for both staff and students and could hinder their success. Here are the important dates for the 2026-27 school year:
- SRHS Annual Kick-Off Dates: Please save the following dates for our annual SRHS Kick-Off event. This is an important event where students return to campus to prepare for the upcoming school year!
- 9th & 10th Grade: Wednesday, July 29
- 11th & 12th Grade: Thursday, July 30
- For more information, please view the event flyer here.
- School will begin on Monday, August 10th.
- Semester 1 finals will be the week of December 14th.
- Semester 2 finals will be the week of May 24th, seniors the week of May 17th.
- The last day of school next year is May 26th.
- Most likely the graduation ceremony will be May 26th.
SR6 Semester Two - Reminder
SR6 (Scripps Ranch 6) is an academic support available to all students. It is a 6th day of school hosted on select Saturdays for four hours, 8am-12pm. Our next session will be held Saturday January 17th. The flyer will be updated with S2 dates and scheduled teachers in January. A breakfast and lunch meal is available for all students attending Core Academy at no charge. Signing up by the Wednesday prior, and selecting “yes” to breakfast and lunch guarantees it will be available for your student. SR6 is also an avenue for students to recover their attendance (AZTWs in PowerSchool) to remain eligible for school events. View Semester 25-26 SR6 Dates or flyer with all sign up forms.
Reporting & Verifying Student Absences via Google Form - Reminder
If a student will be absent, leaving early, or arriving late to school, their parent/guardian must submit the respective Google Form listed below in advance of their student's absence. Twenty-four hours in advance is recommended. Although anyone can access these forms, submissions will only be received when sent using the parent/guardian email address on file in PowerSchool. All other submissions will be automatically blocked.
